Speaking of Calendars.....

I now have a classroom 'Due Date Calendar' hanging up:

Umm....Today was Hat Day...

So, this happened....

Math I Quizzes are graded and put into Infinite Campus

Still waiting on Morgan and Avery who were absent the day before to take it.

Here's the breakdown:
100%-ers:  Ben, Lilly, Luke, Bryan, Austin, and Jake
A's: 9,  B's: 6,  C's: 2,  D's: 3,  F's: 1
Class Average:  81.4%

In Class Today....

Science:

Since so many Fed Ex groups were taking on the task of presenting their projects through prezi or powerpoint I decided to give them an extra day, and take them to the computer lab so I could help groups who needed it.  I was really impressed by the job a lot of groups did with this.

I love how prezi/powerpoint gives students creative license.  Students can graphically display their work  just about any way possible.

Writing:

I mapped out our first big Writing assignment of the year. It's creating a descriptive journal.  I downloaded a powerpoint outlining it in the Listing Folder (tabbed at the top of the blog).  I put due dates (which are always subject to change) in the calendar.

There is a Wordstudy Test tomorrow, so I hope everyone studies and is ready for it.

Math I:

Took Prime Time Investigation 2 Quiz.

Math II:

We continued with the same targets as yesterday and the day before.  The students did really good at the warm-up challenge (a lateral/critical thinking/logical problem we do daily).  Here it is....Can any parents solve it?  (Mrs. P.  I know you'll try :)  )

Clockwork

Three clocks in the train station give the following readings:CLOCK A: 8:00 CLOCK B: 8:50 CLOCK C: 8:20

One clock is 20 minutes fast. One clock is slow. One clock is off by half an hour.

Help the passengers figure out what time it really is.

We then solved this question in groups....

Students jumped in thinking they needed to use strategies involving least common multiples.  So, we discussed it...They needed to find the Greatest Common Factor.  So, in groups they finished the question and then went over all the different ways the snack packs could have been created.

Students then worked individually on p. 45/46 questions 39, 40, and 41.  This is due by the end of BCO tomorrow.
