Champions...

Green Team wins again!!!  This time it took Riley making the highly improbable 'Game Ender' basketball shot to do it.

Wow!! What a finish!!

Green Team:  Riley, Leah, Fiona, Jake

Positive Results..

I was mapping out the first 4 weeks of Pearson results and the second 4-weeks, and was quite pleased with our gains.   So, I went ahead and tracked our Wordstudy Tests as well.

Check out the progress made in one 9-week period.

Students got there school photos back today...

Here's the class photo:

Veteran's Day Activities...

Every Veteran's Day, Hayes Intermediate likes to honor our Vets with an in-school celebration. This form went home with the kids today, if you would like to invite a Veteran to come to our school that day, please fill out the form and send it back by Monday.

Pearson...

Funny Thing Happened.....

Today was Hat Day...though you wouldn't know it in Mr. Morgan's room.

Why??

Because NOT ONE SINGLE STUDENT wore a hat in my class!!

Why??

Well, seems like our Student Council reps forgot to ....umm...what's it called??? ....Oh, yeah-- TELL US!!

Not a big deal, but we had some fun today picking on Alex and Sophia.

Since we got our pictures back today, I was able to do some quick arm-chair photo-editing......and since I am also responsible for not knowing it was Hat Day being that I'm the classroom teacher, I added myself to the fray...

Thanks for being such good sports, you two.  We'll get 'em next time!!

By the way, you have a Student Council meeting on Monday at 8:00am in Room 184, and t-shirt orders are due.

Don't forget!!

Speaking of Hat Day...

Here's an interesting one..

Nice hat Brandon!!  :)

Speaking of interesting.....

I found this on my desk today:

Hmmm....Strangely, this looks familiar...Where have I seen this before??

Oh, yeah last year, when Mrs. Brace did this!!!

You may ask yourself, 'Now, why would Mrs. Brace do such a horrible thing to Mr. Morgan's room?

Well, I have a theory.

Apart from being somewhat negatively influenced by her friend Mrs. Stohl, Mrs. Brace got it in her head that during last years 6th grade party, that I xeroxed, cut out and added a 'fictional' ticket to the rest of the 6th grade party tickets that the kids used for a free drink, hotdog; etc.

Clearly, a ridiculous accusation..

Fed Ex Day....

So far 14 out of 17 groups have presented.  The final 3 groups will have to go on Monday (we ran out of time).

While I was a tad disappointed with the lack of a clear understanding of the Science behind things, the engineering, design, technology, and creativity were above and beyond my expectations.

Overall, I feel really good about our Fed Ex presentations!!  Thank you.

Friday Geocache Challenge....

Use your Google Maps Skills to find the place in the red circle.  Then use your own seek-and-find skills to find the hidden cannister.  Once found, please sign your name to it, make sure the lid is on securely, and put it back in the EXACT same spot.

This week I'm giving you two maps...but before you get excited, know that one map is extremely far away, and one map is extremely close.

Also, remember-- it's always on public land, and you never have to dig anything up.

Have a great weekend!!!
