BCO Work....
There are some assignments in Math that I call BCO work, meaning it should be turned in by the end of BCO.
I always give them time in class to work on it, in fact many finish it by the end of class. If they don't get it finished then students may work on it during BCO.
Students have anywhere between 1.5 - 5 hours of free time during BCO a week. So, like anything 'in theory' all Math should get done in that time.
It has always been my assumption that there is time to finish in class. From the looks of things it seems as though I may be wrong, because I'm not getting the best answers
(although, these people will be getting a point card tomorrow because they did a great job: Olivia, Kaitlyn, Miah, Raj, Andrew P, Sophia, Leah)....
Students, it's important that you do this to your best ability, not because it's an occassional grade but because it is used as a way for me to assess the class.I need to know if I can go on, and if you know it.
My fear is that you are finding these cumbersome and are rushing through.....I'm going to try and find away to tweak my system to get a more accurate view of ability and less of a workload in BCO...but until then, please give better effort.
Parents, in case you're curious, here is the BCO Work from Math II today...
Math Resiliency..............

Students got there Unit 5 Tests back. Students were introduced to our next book called 'Bits and Pieces' (Fractions, Decimals, and Percents). We tried some problems in groups.

Students worked on Bits and Pieces: Investigation 2: Sharing and Comparing Fractions. We did some Think-Pair-Share with Problem 2.1.
My Weekend.....
It was the final weekend of good fishing up at Indian Lake. One of my good buddies has a house up on the lake (my trailer is closed for the season), so we had a guys weekend.
Went fishing. Watched the game. Lots of fun.
