Quia Wordstudy List #13....

3 Puck Chuck...

As you know-- we are studying Forces and Motion in Science.  I found a great game called, 3-puck Chuck,  that involves the physics of motion with an interactive game.

So, how can I get kids to play this??

Hmm....

Thinking.....

Thinking.....

I know!!!

Create a rivalry!!

I had students draw a mural on the whiteboard during BCO dedicated to Logan playing Roni tomorrow (along with everyone else) in the computer lab.

It created an atmosphere akin to this:

Yep...I think its safe to say-- there's interest.

Newton's Laws of Motion Lab...

Before the test I gave each group a tub filled with odds and ends.  I would put up one of the Newton Laws of Motion on the screen and groups had to collectively, brainstorm, and then demonstrate what that law looks like.

Critical Thinker....

Superheo Nicknames....

The other day we did a write chat in Science.  I ask them 3 content-related questions and 1 silly question. They all write them down on a big sheet of paper and then circulate and comment on each others answers.

My question the other day was:  What is your superhero name and what are your super powers?

I'd like to share some names with you..

Leah:  Invisible Awesome Ninja
Fiona:  Quiet Panda
Miah: Dry Ice Woman
Conner:  The Metamorph.
Gage:  Web Guy (to which Cayla replied "Superman would sue you!!"
Lilly:  Magic Mind
Autumn:  Alpaca Attack
Emma:  Anonymous Turtle
Brandon: Captain Building
Luke:  LUUUUUUKKKKKKKEEEE
Kaitlyn:  The Confusion
Alaina:  Metal Mouth
Morgan: Supersparkle Unicorn
Mya:  Wonder Bacon

This one made me laugh the most...

Alexander Spohn's superhero name is.....Alexander Spohn (I always tell Alex that his name sounds like either a super hero or a villain)
