Cleanliness...
As part of Ava, Danielle, and Jaron's Fed Ex Day project, mine and Mrs. Culp's hands were swabbed with a Q-tip and then placed on a petri dish of agar (a sugary substance that allows bacteria to colonize).

Let me add that I did not wash my hands first, and it was during a Fed Ex Day that they got the sample, meaning I probably needed to wear haz mat gloves anyway. I without a doubt expected our cultures to look opposite of what they did.

Which is why I am concerned for Mrs. Culp. Unless, Mrs. Culp was in the cafeteria playing 'puppet show' with the raw chicken again,  I think a lifestyle change may be needed.  :)

Fed Ex Day....

Today was round 1 of the first Fed Ex Day presentations, and I have mixed reviews.  On one hand, I didn't expect a perfect in either round of presentations considering its the first of the year. On the other hand, I didn't expect to give out the worse Fed Ex grade I've ever handed out in 3 years of doing Fed Ex Day presentations.

We have 16 groups, and 8 went today.  Here is how they breakdown.

A's: 3, B's: 3, C's: 1, D's: 0, F's: 1
The average grade was a 79%. The biggest rubric compnent that's been hit-- 'Science Behind It'.

YOU GOTTA KNOW THE SCIENCE BEHIND IT!!  I mention this every Fed Ex Day!!

I'm excited to see how tomorrow will go.
