Fractured Fairytales...
In Writing we will be writing fractured fairytales.  Here is an example of a fractured fairytale based on Cinderella.

Students from my writing will need to choose a fairytale and write a 1-paragraph summary of it by Friday.

Lego Mindstorms...
Connor brought in his Lego Mindstorm robot today.  Very cool stuff.  What I like most about it is the computer programming that is done.

Nice Glasses, Arica!!

They have wipers on them that actually wipe back-and-forth.  Perfect if you deal with a lot of mud.

LBR Investigation 3 Breakdown...

Math I
100%ers:Mary, Grimm, Jessica, Camryn, Adeline, Michael, Joey, Ghoulia, Joisey
A's: 12    B's: 10    C's: 1    D's: 1   F's: 1
Mean:82%  Median: 82%

Math II
100%ers: Cole, Connor
A's:2      B's:3       C's:6      D's: 4     F's:9
Mean:63%   Median: 69%

Math II's scores can be DIRECTLY  attributed to not following directions.  I told the class BEFORE the test that they will need to estimate their answers AND then find the actual answer.  I even modelled for them how it should be done on the board.  THEN it was spelled out to do the same thing on the quiz.  See below..

PBL Day...
More brainstorming and research today.  For a in depth description of what our PBL for Science is click on the 'PBL' tab near the top of this page.

Materials are needed for our models, especially bases.  All groups will need a foam board, or corrugated cardboard base 2' x 3' big.

The bases can also be made from another material, so long as they are sturdy and be cut to 2' x 3' dimensions.
