Student Council Reps

The 3-way tie between Alex, Sophia and Leah was broken today.  Each student got up in front of their peers once more and delivered a speech as to why they should be elected the student council reps for 'The 162'.  In the end it was Alex and Sophia narrowly getting elected.  The vote count was amazingly close:  17, 15, and 14. Pearson Players of the Week

****Pearson is an online computer program that assesses how students do on OAA-type questions.  Students complete one assessment per week.  If a student is green (meaning they average a 90% or above) they get a 200-point card each week they maintain it.  If a student is light green (80 - 89%) they get a 100-point card.  The Top Overall (averaged- on the year) student gets a 200-point card each week, and the Top of the Week performer gets a 100-point card.

Here's how they did...

Math I
Green:  none
Light Green: none
Tops of the Week:  Avery, Ben and Josh
Top Overall:  Josh

Math II
Green: Kurt, Fiona, Aaron, Calista, and Nathan Cr.
Light Green: Raj
Top of the Week:  Kurt, Aaron, Calista
Top overall:  Nathan Cr.

Class Today

Science:
Fed Ex Day!!  Students started Phase I of Fed Ex.  Many students started experimenting while others researched.  I want to thank Mrs. Schall for volunteering her time to helping facilitate groups.

Math I:
We went over all the questions from the last Pearson assessment.  I made it a game format by putting students in pairs with a whiteboard and expo marker.  We then went through problems one-by-one and if they answered correctly they recieved a raffle ticket.  Raffle trickets were collected at the end of class, where candy and point cards were then raffled off.

Math II:
We took quiz 1.1 - 1.3.  I hope to have the quiz scores up on Infinite Campus soon!!

Fed Ex Day...

I told a group doing the colored milk experiment that I would take a bunch of pictures for them and put them up so they could use them on their powerpoint.  Here they are...
