Class Today

Science:
(powerpoint in listing folder under groups and brainstorm)We got into our first ever Fed Ex Day groups.  We then went to the computer lab, logged on, got on this website, went to the links page, scrolled down to Science and brainstormed science experiments/demonstrations to do for Fed Ex Day.  Here's a picture of the rubric.

Writing:
I showed students how to get on and play the Quia games that are associated with our Wordstudy words.  Games can be found here: http://www.quia.com/jg/2454954.html .  I also passed out definitions to the wordstudy words, and students completed a crossword puzzle in the Wordstudy packet.  We also finished writing our questions to our writing topics.  Questions and answers are due by Thursday.

Math:
(powerpoint in listing folder under Target 1.3)Target 1.3 Play the Products game.  We went over yesterdays 'exit slip', read about multiples and products, and then I introduced them to The Products Game.  They played this against one another, with some earning points for their teams.

Online version of The Products Game:  http://illuminations.nctm.org/ActivityDetail.aspx?ID=29

* I'll give 100-point cards to anyone who plays a friend or family member at this game and beats them.  Just print out the game board, or have a parent confirm it in writing.
