Infinite Campus Technical Difficulties
I'm still feeling my way around infinite campus.  I made a couple entry mistakes that made it look as if some students had 2 missing assignments and a score of 5% on another.

I'm sorry.

That is not the case.  I fixed everything (I think anyway) today, so it should be up-to-date.

Class Today

Science
We completed our dichotomous keys in our groups.  I then assessed them by selected 3 items and random and taking them through the key. We then did a 'write chat', which is an activity (and formative assessment) where I ask students questions and they answer them individually on a big sheet of butcher paper.  After they answer the questions they circulate around the room, view and comment on what others have written.

Writing
We worked on writing questions on our topics and then answering them. This will be used as a pre-write for an upcoming paper. Some students also worked a bit on their Wordstudy packets.

Math I
I got a bad reading off of yesterday's exit slips, so I went back and did a bit of reteaching.  We reviewed factors, multiples, prime and composite numbers. I then let them play the product game (online version here: http://illuminations.nctm.org/ActivityDetail.aspx?ID=29 ) they did VERY good this time.  I tentatively plan to give them a quiz over 1.1 - 1.3 in Prime Time on Wednesday 9/4.

Math II
I had a few students who thought they were 'experts' at The Product Game, so I put all the experts together and had them face the rest of the class.  We did this collectively, it was fun, and the experts pulled it out.  We then made number sentences using the vocabulary terms product, factor, multiple and divisor.  I assigned p. 15-16 #'s 18 - 27.  This assignment will BE DONE HERE AT SCHOOL!!  Of course, I won't stop anyone who wants to take school work home, but we will get it done here, and I'd rather be the one to correct students and answer their questions.

Here is a Quia game called Rags to Riches (think Who Wants to be a Millionaire) that will help students review for Quiz 1.1 - 1.3:  http://www.quia.com/rr/904895.html?AP_rand=1788331460
