Nathan Cr/Darshan vs. Veronica/Kaitlyn Challenge
To end this double overtime game, I showed them a game online where they had to blow up aliens by estimating the angle they were in the sky. There are 10 questions. So far Nathan and Veronica have been on, we'll get Darshan and Kaitlyn on tomorrow.
Here's the game if anyone wants to play it:

Michaela (the creature with the hidden picture)....
I get the clue (lockers), but I looked in all of them and can't find it!! Are you sure it didn't get taken?
Math Resiliency Question
Wow!! We had a high number of correct answers!! I think our confidence is growing and we aren't afraid to face-off with these questions anymore.
These people solved the question and will recieve a 200-point card:
Miah, Cayla, Courtney, Darshan, Andrew P., Kaitlyn, Grace, Kathryn, Allyson, Nate M., Calista, Raj, Aaron, Kurt, Kennedy, Matt, Connor
Great Job....I'm proud of you all. Tomorrow, I will have another one for you.
In Class Today....
Science:
We finished our 'Write Chat' on the first section of Chapter ( Rocks and Minerals). We then watched a 4-minute video on the power of water and erosion. We did an erosion lab, where we put a piece of chalk (which is made out of gypsum-- a type of limestone) into a test tube, sealed the top, shook it for 2 minutes and then opened it up and looked at our chalk. In a mere 2-minutes it had shrunk significantly. Just imagine if the force of water was larger and the time exposed was A LOT longer.
We then did a Venn Diagram comparing and contrasting gold and pyrite. I wanted the Venn Diagram done by the end of BCO. If not done it needs to be turned in 1st thing tomorrow.

Writing:
We started peer editing our papers.
Math I:
We took the entire period and broke down each and every problem from our quiz thoroughly. It was a tough class. I demanded their constant attention and we went after it. I compared it to a team watching game film after a tough loss. No one wants to do it, but the great ones focus on correcting their mistakes.
Math II:
We started prime factoring numbers. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly and efficiently they picked up on it. I even skipped over some things that I had planned. We started playing a game with it. We'll finish it tomorrow-- then do Investigation 4.3: Using Prime Factorizations to solve LCM and GCF problems.
100-point question:
What is this?

I have a present-day version of this in my room. Find it, and you'll find the cards.
