1/7/12 School resumes
Before Thanksgiving Break I posted a video of what was supposed to be a funny video of an Ohio State fan on a blind date with a Michigan fan. The OSU fan realizes that his date is a Michigan grad and hurls himself out the car.
I just checked it this morning and-- that wasn't the video. Umm....I fixed it now....sorry.
Both videos (the one before and the one now) were ESPN commercials...its just that...well, one of them I would never put on a school blog.
Sorry

Chapter 15: Forces and Motion Lesson 3 Mini-Quiz....
First off, this quiz you were allowed to use your books on. Not only were you allowed to use your books, but all the material on the quiz was covered completely on a 3-page spread of text.
Consider those facts with these 2:
* The median was 90%.
* The mean was 80%
That means that more than half the class got either a 9/10 or a 10/10. YET...scores on the bottom were low enough to drag the mean down 10%.
Let me say that again for dramatic effect....
MORE THAN HALF the class scored an A. (Actually 29 out of 50 of your peers, scored an A.) Yet some of you scored a 40%, 20%, or (and yes, this happened) 10% . Scores so bad, that you were able to force a 10%-point differential between the mean and the median.
Ya' know what? I'm gonna rehash this thing again for dramatic-DRAMATIC effect.
Today in Science, there was an open book quiz covering 3 pages of text. 29 of 50 students scored an A. Yet, our two classes had an average of a B-. In fact, some of you scored a 4/10, 2/10, and even (GASP) a 1/10.
Know what it tells me?? Some of you are being lazy....VERY lazy.
Seriously, we're better than this. We'll talk more in Science tomorrow.

Not all are true. Everyone has their own way of thinking but I think they have to reconsider. I like to argue for the most accurate results.
