A Past Student.....
A 162 alumni stopped in to see me today and I completely forgot to take a picture. That, like, TOTALLY never happens.
It was great seeing you Brooke. Thank you so much for dropping by. One thing I think people underestimate is just how special it is for teachers to see past students.
In honor of you Brooke, I dusted this old comic strip off.
Say 'Hi' to your parents for me. Let me know if your dad ever needs someone to step in and help him FIGHT FIRE!!--- Caaaaauuuuuussssseee I would be there in a heart beat. :)

Math Resiliency...
Congrats to: Aaron
Mrs. Miller and I had two differing approaches to this problem. Mrs. Miller went with a more spatial approach (below).
I went with a more number-based approach (below).
Using Blocks (and line plots) to Find Mean....
Students had to show mean (average) on line plots. There was a twist, though. In their groups they had to show mean using 2 differing line plots, where the data is distributed differently in each one.
Example below...

Devin's line plot shows a mean of 4. |

Lilly (in Devins group) also showed a mean of 4, but her data is distributed differently. |
Friday Geocache Challenge
A little twist to this one. Look for the red yarn!!
And as always....take an adult.
