Invention Convention will be taking 12 of our Inventions!!!....
Just got word the 'powers that be', IC is taking our Top 12 inventions!!! This is awesome!! That is double the amount of last year, and last year was the most I have ever had in the years before that!!
So, this means that everyone listed below qualifies for Columbus State.
I will fill everybody in with specifics on Monday.
Here are a few pictures I took last year...

Leah graded out as the top invention from my class last year. At Columbus State she ended up being a finalist for Time Warner's 'Coolest Creation' and ended up being in a commercial. |

Leah receiving one of her awards. |

2 students of mine (in the very back) receiving an award (I believe it was money). |

This is just one section of the Columbus State gym where the awards banquet was held. There was a great turn out. |
Wordstudy Test Breakdown...

Math Resiliency....
Congrats to: Kennedy, Leah, Sophia, Nate McD, Kathryn, Kurt, Michaela, Grace, Aaron
Solution: No real way to short cut this problem. You simply count out all the takes for each actor (you can see I made a mistake with Bill Murray, though-- it should be 82 not 81). The only number that they all have in common- 82, which, of course, is our answer.
Critical Thinker...
Congrats to: Courtney, Kennedy, Nate McD, Andrew P, Sophia, Connor, Allyson, Kathryn, Kurt, Aaron, Kaitlyn, Fiona, Darshan, Miah, Andrew C, Michaela, Jaz, Veronica
Solution: I personally went with an organized guess-and-check approach. I started with the square equaling 20, then moved down to 18, realized that my answer was getting farther away (I need it to equal 18), so I re-calibrated to 22 and got it.
Friday Geocache Challenge
It's been awhile, but hopefully we'll get a lot of participants, especially if this ends up being a nice weekend. Remember, use google maps to find the location, and take a parent with you.
Good luck!!
