Two Studious Young Men...
I have a group of gentlemen who love going to the library to work during BCO. Every once in awhile I send a spy down with a camera to catch them messing around.
Here's my latest picture...Tell me, does this look staged?
Jumping Potential Lab for Math I
Pretty fun lab. We looked at the Science behind the vertical jump and watched a short Sports Science film on it. We then measured our own 'jumping potential' in partners. On Wednesday, we will create scatter plots to look at our class data points and see if there are any patterns or predictions we can make.
Island Population Simulation..
Today was very tedious. I told kids that it reminded me of working in a research lab. It's always fun analyzing and breaking down the results, but it's the tedious protocol that must be attended too that takes up the lion's share of the work. Today we needed to buckle down and simulate 10 years on the island. Eventually we will take another census, create some line graphs and analyze population fluctuations.
Math Mystery...
A new thing I want to end the year with. Both Math classes received one of these. The students know that I want more than just the information missing-- I told them that there are 5 grandchildren and the answer must be written and solved like an equation.
My Weekend....
Friday Night, our friend turned 37 so she had a little get together complete with cake.
Saturday we went to Indian Lake where we met up with our cousins and grandparents.
Sunday, Tristan had basketball (we won 40-14), Brooklyn played with the tackle box I got her, and Cooper, Tristan and I went to the park.
